guided tours holidays and vacationHigh Places was founded by Bob and Mary Lancaster in Sheffield, UK in 1988. Starting in a small way by taking a group of friends trekking in India, the number of destinations has grown over the years. In 1999 Bob and Mary moved to Nelson at the top of the south island of New Zealand, and established High Places NZ. In 2011, the Sheffield High Places office separated from High Places NZ although both companies continue to work closely together.
What hasn’t changed is the passion for people, trekking and mountains and the personal service we offer to everyone who travels with us. High Places NZ and High Places UK continue to organise and lead quality treks and climbs for small groups of like-minded outdoors people. We remain small enough for all our trips to be special.
