The Smokehouse was established over 20 years ago on the historic Mapua Wharf. Set on the Waimea Inlet – the largest estuary in the South Island, it is an area famed for sunshine, sand, scenery, artists and vineyards.

Premium Seafood tenderly hand-smoked in small batches on a wharf in Mapua at the top of New Zealand’s South Island using traditional brick kilns, New Zealand manuka shavings and a refreshingly simple brine. From rich and creamy pates to succulent and plump marinated mussels to silky textured white fish and salmon.
